Katla. starten Live-Karriere

KATLA., das Projekt von Einar Thorberg Guðmundsson und Ex-Sólstafir-Schlagzeuger Guðmundur Óli Pálmason, hat sich zur Band gewandelt. Wie auf der offiziellen KATLA.-Facebook-Seite bekanntgegeben wurde, haben die Isländer eine Kooperation mit Doomstar Bookings gestartet, die künftige Live-Auftritte der Band organisieren werden.

Neben Einar Thorberg Guðmundsson (Gesang) und Guðmundur Óli Pálmason (Schlagzeug) gehören nun auch Hörður Ólafsson am Bass and Ingvar Sæmundsson an der Gitarre zur Band. Die beiden Musiker waren zuvor bei der mittlerweile aufgelösten Band Momentum aktiv.

Die Band kündigt in ihrem Statement jedoch zugleich an, aufgrund familiärer Verpflichtungen keine ausführlichen Touren spielen zu wollen. Vielmehr zielen KATLA. auf ausgewählte Festivalauftritte ab.

Hier das Statement der Band im O-Ton:

We, Katla. are very pleased to announce that we’ve started working with Doomstar Bookings for upcoming live appearances.
As many of you might know, we had no intentions of playing live when we formed Katla., and therefore the band has been, and still is a duo consisting of Einar Thorberg Guðmundsson and Guðmundur Óli Pálmason, but for our live appearances we will be joined by our friends Hörður Ólafsson on bass and Ingvar Sæmundsson on guitar. Both Hörður and Ingvar come from the now sadly defunct momentum, who released, in our opinion, some of the best metal albums Iceland has ever seen.
As all of us are grown ass men with beards on our faces and family duties on our shoulders we do not foresee doing any big tours, but we are hoping we can play a few festivals for our, and hopefully your enjoyment.
