Samael distanzieren sich von rechten Bands beim „Steelfest“

Die schweizer Black-Metaller SAMAEL haben mit in einem Statement zum „Steelfest“ gemeldet. Darin distanziert sich die Band von den dem Billing zuletzt hinzugefügten NSBM-Bands. Eine Entscheidung, ob die Band auf dem 2022 in Finnland stattfindenden Festival auftreten wird, steht noch aus.

 We confirmed our participation to Steelfest 2021, where we were supposed to play with Worship And Ritual. As the festival got pushed back to 2022, we proposed to play an old school SAMAEL set (based mainly on «Ceremony of Opposites» and «Passage»). On the first announcement of the festival made three months ago, we knew most of the bands on the billing. However, a couple of days ago, the festival revealed the complete line-up of their 2022 edition, and it now appears that some of the new bands that are announced are mainly using the music to give a platform to promote extreme political views that we don’t support. We don’t believe in censorship, but we want to distance ourselves from extreme political views that go against everything we stand for. At the moment, we’re waiting for the festival promoter to make a decision. To all our fans in Finland, we’re looking forward to play for you and we’ll keep you posted about further development.

  1. Das ist doch alles dummes Geschwurbel… das Steelfest ist doch seit Jahren dafür bekannt dass sie gerne Bands buchen die den Adolf mögen, da kann sich doch keiner mit rausreden dass sie das nicht haben kommen sehen.

    1. stimme dir zu 100% zu, das ist bereits lange bekannt. Schade aber auch, dass neutrale und bekannte Bands hinzugezogen werden, um NSBM salonfähig zu machen.
